Sizing the Equine "Slipper"?
The Equine “Slipper” is tailored for maximum adjustability and fit. The four sizes, along with adjustable Velcro, allows for a custom fit for all normal hoof variations.
Be sure to take note that the hind hooves are a bit narrower than and not as rounded as the front hooves. Therefore, one horse may need two different sizes depending on which hoof you are treating.
1. Measure the widest part of the hoof. Some hooves are longer from wall to wall and some are longer from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. As the base of the “Slipper” is round, it is important to know the widest measurements of the horse’s hoof to ensure a proper fit.
2. Consult our sizing chart and determine which size your horse will require. A smaller size may be preferred as it reduces wear on the “Slipper” and may provide the horse with a better fit.
| Size | Maximum Hoof Width | Maximum Hoof Length |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 4¾” | 4½” |
| Medium | 5¾” | 6” |
| Large | 6½” | 6½” |
| Extra Large | 7½” | 7½” |
